Penyakit Meningitis, Penyakit yang Sedang Ramai di Negara Ini

Akhir-akhir ini penyakit Meningitis sedang ramai dibicarakan di Indonesia. Bagaimana pembahasan tentang penyakit ini dan cara pencegahannya?

Penyakit Meningitis merupakan sebuah penyakit yang masih belum begitu familiar di telinga kita, Saya sendiri baru pertama kali mendengar penyakit ini ketika ada berita tentang pemain sepakbola yang waktu itu membela klub liga inggris Chelsea FC yaitu Danniel Stturridge yang pernah menderita penyakit meningitis ini. Namun ajaibnya dia dapat segera pulih dari penyakit meningitis tersebut dan bahkan tetap dapat menjalani hidupnya sebagai pesepakbola seperti biasanya.

Meninges

Penyakit meningitis merupakan penyakit yang terjadi akibat adanya infeksi meninges atau yang dikenal dengan selaput yang melindungi sistem syaraf pusat pada tubuh manusia. Infeksi tersebut bisa terjadi karena adanya peradangan yang disebabkan karena virus maupun bakteri pada selaput meninges tersebut. Dari keterangan tersebut nampak jelas bahwa penyakit meningitis merupakan salah satu penyakit yang berbahaya dan menakutkan. Penyakit meningitis diketahui mampu membuat bagian syaraf manusia, sumsum tulang belakang dan otak menjadi rusak

Penyakit meningitis dapat menyerang kelompok umur manapun, meskipun pada kenyataannya, kelompok umur yang rawan terkena penyakit ini adalah anak-anak usia balita dan orang tua. Beberapa orang yang rentan terkena penyakit meningitis selain dilihat melalui kelompok umur juga bisa disebabkan oleh hal berikut ini:

• Seseorang yang memiliki pleuroperitoneal CSF dalam otak/patologi lain. 
• Seseorang yang menggunakan prosedur tulang belakang, seperti halnya anestesi tulang belakang. 
• Seseorang dengan cacat dural 
• Penderita penyakit diabetes
• Seseorang yang terinfeksi bakteri Endokarditis 
• Para pecandu alkohol 
• Pecandu narkotika jenis suntik 

Penyebab Penyakit Meningitis

Sebenarnya penyebab penyakit meningitis ini bukan merupakan jenis virus yang begitu berbahaya, namun jika telah parah dapat mengakibatkan gangguan kesehatan yang serius seperti kerusakan otak, kurangnya daya ingat, kurang nya kemampuan pendengaran dan bahkan menyebabkan kematian jika tidak ditangani secara serius. Virus penyebab penyakit meningitis pada awal nya menginfeksi bagian tubuh penderita dan mengalir masuk ke dalam sel-sel syaraf pusat yaitu otak manusia. Penyebab utama penyakit meningitis pada dasar nya adalah virus yang dapat menyerang manusia dalam kondisi kekebalan tubuh seperti apapun. Selain itu juga dapat disebabkan karena infeksi akibat bakteri atau pun jamur, meskipun ini sangat jarang dijumpai. Bakteri penyebab meningitis tersebut antara lain : Streptococcus pneumoniae, Neisseria meningitidis, Haemophilus influenzae,Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium tuberculosis dan Staphylococcus aureus. Gejala Penyakit Meningitis

Penderita penyakit meningitis perlu didiagnosis terlebih dahulu untuk memastikan dia benar-benar terjangkit penyakit ini. Meskipun begitu, ada beberapa gejala penyekit meningitis yang biasanya muncull pada penderita. gejala tersebut anara lain;

• Sakit kepala
• Demam
• Otot leher kaku
• Ketakutan pada cahaya terang
• Ketakutan pada suara keras (phonophobia)
• Sering ingin Muntah
• Nampak seperti kebingungan
• Susah bangun dari tidurnya

Sementara, jika penderita adalah seorang bayi, gejala tersebut tidak begitu nampak. Namun biasanya bayi yang menderita penyakit meningitis akan nampak lemah dan kurang aktif, gemetar pada tubuhnya, tidak mau menyusu ibu nya, dan sering muntah.

Pengobatan Penyakit Meningitis

Pengobatan yang terbaik untuk penyakit meningitis tentu saja segera di bawa ke rumah sakit. Bahkan rumah sakitnya pun benar-benar yang berkelas dan memiliki perlengkapan yang baik untuk mendiagnosa penyakit ini karena dalam penyembuhan dan pengobatan penyakit meningitis harus dilakukan pemeriksaan fisik dan laboratorium seperti test darah, rontgen bahkan cek cairan selaput otak.

NARATIVE TEXT

A.               Definition of Narrative

Narrative is a text focusing specific participants. Its social function is to tell stories or past events and entertain the readers.

B.           Purpose

 To amuse or entertain the readers with actual or imaginary experiences in difference ways. Narrative always deal with some problems which lead to the climax and them turn into a solution to the problem.

C.               Generic Structure of Narrative Text

1. Orientation : sets the scene and introduces the participants (characters) of the story, the time and place the story happened (Who, what, when and where) 
2. Complication : a crisis arises. A series of events in which the main character Attempts to solve the problem. 
3. Resolution : the crisis is resolved, for better or worse
4. Re-orientation: it is optional. The ending of story. It sometimes contains the solution

D.               Language Features of Narrative Text

1. A narrative focuses on specific participants.
2. There are many action verbs, verbal and mental processes
3. Direct and indirect speeches are often used
4. It usually uses Past Tense
5. Linking words are used, related with time
6. There are sometimes some dialog and the tense can change
7. Descriptive language is used to create listener’s or reader’s imagination
8. Temporal conjunctions are also used.

'The Smartest Parrot'

Once upon time, a man had a wonderful parrot. There was no other parrot like it. The parrot could say every word, except one word. The parrot would not say the name of the place where it was born. The name of the place was Catano.

The man felt excited having the smartest parrot but he could not understand why the parrot would not say Catano. The man tried to teach the bird to say Catano however the bird kept not saying the word.

At the first, the man was very nice to the bird but then he got very angry. “You stupid bird!” pointed the man to the parrot. “Why can’t you say the word? Say Catano! Or I will kill you” the man said angrily. Although he tried hard to teach, the parrot would not say it. Then the man got so angry and shouted to the bird over and over; “Say Catano or I’ll kill you”. The bird kept not to say the word of Catano.

One day, after he had been trying so many times to make the bird say Catano, the man really got very angry. He could not bear it. He picked the parrot and threw it into the chicken house. There were four old chickens for next dinner “You are as stupid as the chickens. Just stay with them” Said the man angrily. Then he continued to humble “You know, I will cut the chicken for my meal. Next it will be your turn, I will eat you too, stupid parrot”. After that he left the chicken house.

The next day, the man came back to the chicken house. He opened the door and was very surprised. He could not believe what he saw at the chicken house. There were three death chickens on the floor. At the moment, the parrot was standing proudly and screaming at the last old chicken; “Say Catano or I’ll kill you”.
